Our Mission

Hard Knock Homes was founded by Johnny Sierra and Sam Kaufman—two former door-to-door managers who lived the same lifestyle as the reps they serve.

 

Every summer, they left for sales while still paying for empty homes. Long-term renting didn’t make sense, and short-term rental companies required year-long contracts.

 

Managing a property from across the country wasn’t realistic—so they built a solution.

Our Mission

Hard Knock Homes was founded by Johnny Sierra and

Sam Kaufman, two former door-to-door managers who spent several years running their own sales teams and living the same lifestyle as the reps they serve.

 

Every summer, they left for sales while their homes sat empty, still paying mortgages on properties they weren’t using. Long-term renting didn’t make sense, and most short-term rental companies required 12-month contracts.

 

On top of that, managing a property from across the country while knocking doors wasn’t realistic. When you’re in season, you need to be fully focused — not dealing with guests, cleanings, or maintenance.

 

So they built a solution.
